McCarthy Window and Door is a family business rooted in the lakes region of Minnesota. Tim McCarthy brings over 28 years of hands-on installation experience — the kind of expertise that only comes from decades of showing up and doing the work right. Initially Tim learned the art of craftmanship from his father, Tim McCarthy Sr. while growing up on the family resort business, Echo Bay, on the Whitefish Chain in Pequot Lakes, MN. After living in Colorado for a few years post high school, Tim learned the art of installing hollow metal doors at Colorado Doorways, Inc. in Denver, CO. After moving back to Minnesota, Tim began working in window and door installation at Harmony Homes in East Bethel. MN, and eventually as the Lead Foreman/Installer at Shaw Stewart Lumber in Minneapolis.

Paired with Tim's craftsmanship is his brother-in-law, Preston Ray. Personable, energetic, and impossible to forget, Preston brings the same passion to every customer conversation that Tim brings to every installation. Preston's sales background and project coordination keep everything moving — handling quotes, communication, and logistics so Tim can stay focused on what he does best: delivering a flawless installation.
